Can babies eat tofu?
Tofu can be offered once your baby has started solids, prepared to suit their stage. This is a common allergen (Soya).

How to prepare tofu, age by age
- 6 to 8 months
- Steam silken tofu until warm, then blend into a smooth purée.
- 9 to 11 months
- Silken tofu mashed or blended — very smooth texture.
- 12 to 17 months
- Small soft cubes of firm tofu.
- 18 months and over
- Small cubes they can pick up with a pincer grip.

Is tofu good for babies?
Tofu is an excellent plant-based protein providing all essential amino acids. Rich in calcium, magnesium, and iron. Silken tofu has the softest texture and is ideal for early purées, while firm tofu can be cut into finger-food cubes from around 9 months. A great alternative for dairy-free diets.
