How to prepare cod, age by age
- 6 to 8 months
- Steam or bake until cooked through — mash and check carefully for bones.
- 9 to 11 months
- Flaked and blended into vegetable purées.
- 12 to 17 months
- Small soft flakes — always check for bones before serving.
- 18 months and over
- Small flaked pieces — check for bones each time.

Is cod good for babies?
Cod is a lean white fish with a mild flavour — ideal for babies new to fish. Rich in high-quality protein, vitamin B12, iodine, and selenium. Lower in omega-3 than oily fish, but a valuable part of a varied diet. Its delicate texture breaks down easily into fine flakes suitable from 6 months.
