How to prepare pumpkin, age by age

6 to 8 months
Roast or steam until very tender, then blend until smooth.
9 to 11 months
Smooth mash or small soft pieces.
12 to 17 months
Small soft cubes.
18 months and over
Bite-size pieces.

Is pumpkin an allergen?

Pumpkin is not one of the main food allergens. Any new food can cause a reaction the first time it is offered, so give it on its own and stay with your baby while they eat.

Is pumpkin good for babies?

Pumpkin is one of the most beta-carotene-rich foods available — essential for vision and immune health. Also provides potassium, zinc, and vitamin C. Its naturally sweet flavour and silky texture when cooked make it one of the most accepted vegetables among babies from 6 months.
