How to prepare white beans, age by age

6 to 8 months
Cook until very soft, blend into a smooth creamy purée.
9 to 11 months
Mashed or blended into soft foods.
12 to 17 months
Small soft pieces or mashed.

Normal serving — whole, mashed, or in soups.

Is white beans good for babies?

White beans (cannellini) are one of the highest plant sources of iron — especially important for breastfed babies whose iron stores begin to deplete around 6 months. Also rich in protein, fibre, and folate. Their mild, creamy flavour blends into almost any purée without altering the taste. A staple first legume.
