How to prepare quinoa, age by age

6 to 8 months
Rinse well, then simmer until fully soft and blend if needed.
9 to 11 months
Well-cooked quinoa mixed into purées or porridge.
12 to 17 months
Cooked quinoa mixed into soft foods and finger foods.
18 months and over
Cooked quinoa served alongside their meal.

Is quinoa an allergen?

Quinoa is not one of the main food allergens. Any new food can cause a reaction the first time it is offered, so give it on its own and stay with your baby while they eat.

Is quinoa good for babies?

Quinoa is the only plant food that is a complete protein — containing all 9 essential amino acids. It is also gluten-free, making it suitable for babies with gluten sensitivity. Rich in iron, magnesium, and manganese. Rinse before cooking to remove naturally occurring saponins that can cause digestive discomfort.
