Mushroom is not one of the main food allergens. Any new food can cause a reaction the first time it is offered, so give it on its own and stay with your baby while they eat.
Is mushroom good for babies?
Mushrooms are the only plant-based source of vitamin D when exposed to sunlight. Rich in B vitamins, selenium, and beta-glucan fibre that supports immune function. Always cook thoroughly — raw mushrooms contain chitin which is difficult for babies to digest. Introduce after 9 months when the gut is more developed.
