How to prepare strawberry, age by age
- 6 to 8 months
- Steam until very soft, then blend to a smooth purée with no lumps.
- 9 to 11 months
- Soft mashed pieces or thick purée — introduce small, manageable amounts.
- 12 to 17 months
- Small soft pieces — skin and any seeds removed.
- 18 months and over
- Bite-size pieces they can self-feed — supervise at all times.
Is strawberry an allergen?
Strawberry is not one of the main food allergens. Any new food can cause a reaction the first time it is offered, so give it on its own and stay with your baby while they eat.
