Can babies eat fig?
Fig is not suitable for younger babies. Once your baby is 9 months, prepare it as below.

How to cook fig for a baby
- Method
- Raw (ripe) or Steamed
- Texture

How you cut and serve fig changes as your baby grows. That is set out age by age below.
How to prepare fig, age by age
- 9 to 11 months
- Mashed ripe fig — skin off.
- 12 to 17 months
- Small pieces — very ripe fig is soft and sweet.
- 18 months and over
- Bite-size pieces with skin on.
Earlier ages are not shown because fig is not recommended before 9 months.
Is fig an allergen?
Fig is not one of the main food allergens. Any new food can cause a reaction the first time it is offered, so give it on its own and stay with your baby while they eat.
Is fig good for babies?
Figs are one of the most fibre-dense fruits, making them excellent for digestive health and gentle constipation relief. Rich in calcium, magnesium, and potassium. Their natural sweetness is intensely satisfying for babies and helps encourage acceptance of new flavours.
